Westmr. Smith on his Oath saith that on Thursday<del>Wednesday</del>

Morning last about ten O'Clock Deponent was going along<lb></lb>
Orchard Street in the said Parish of St. Margaret and saw<lb></lb>

asked her what was the Matter to which she Answered<lb></lb>
that one of her Lodgers was hanging, whereupon<lb></lb>

a Woman who lodged in the<lb></lb>
House went to the Room Door where Deced was hanging<lb></lb>
(being two pair of Stairs) and there found a Man endeavouring to open the<lb></lb>
Door, which was locked, and the Key in the Lock or<lb></lb>
the inside of the Door, Deponent says that with a<lb></lb>
pair of Pincers he broke the Lock, and opened the Door<lb></lb>
Says that he then discovered the Deced hanging by<lb></lb>
two Apron Strings over a Closet Door in said Room,<lb></lb>
Says that a <rs type="occupation" id="WACWIC65204_occ157">Butcher</rs>

who came into the room<lb></lb>
immediately after deponent, with his Knife cut the<lb></lb>
Aprons Strings and the Deced fell down upon the Floor,<lb></lb>
Says that he took hold of Deced's hand which was warm<lb></lb>
and Deponent thought that the Deced was then alive<lb></lb>
says that he sent for Mr. Purdean an <rs type="occupation" id="WACWIC65204_occ158">Apothecary</rs>

Bleed the Deced, who came immediately and endeavou'd <lb></lb>
to bleed her, but the Deced bled very little, and Mr.<lb></lb>
Purdean then said that the Deced was Dead, and<lb></lb>
Deponent soon after perceived that deced was Dead,</p>
