<p n="477">Shall be provided & kept in every Parish(at the Charge<lb></lb>
of the same Parish)a Book or Books wherein the Names<lb></lb>
of all such Persons who do or may receive Collection shall <lb></lb>
be Registered with the Day & Par when they were first<lb></lb>
admitted to have Releif & the Occasion which brought<lb></lb>
them under that Necessity: And that yearly in Easter<lb></lb>
Week(or as Often as it shall be Thought Convenient)the<lb></lb>
Parishioners of every Parish shall meet in their Vestry<lb></lb>
or other usuall Place of meeting in the same Parish<lb></lb>
before whom the sd. Book shall be Produced & all Persons<lb></lb>
receiving Collection to be called over & the Reasons of their<lb></lb>
Taking Releife Examined & a new List made & Entered of <lb></lb>
such Persons as they shall think fitt & allow to receive of <lb></lb>
the sd. Parish that no other Person be allowed to have or<lb></lb>
receive Collection at the Charge of the sd. Parish but by<lb></lb>
the Authority under the Hand of one Justice of Peace residing <lb></lb>
within such Parish(if none be there dwelling)in the Parts<lb></lb>
near or next adjoyning or by Order of the Justices in their<lb></lb>
Respective quarter Sessions Except in Cases of Pestilential<lb></lb>
Deseases Plague or small Pox & for in Respect of such<lb></lb>
Familys only as are or shall be there with Infected</p>
<p n="478">Stat 9: Geo 1: Chap 7: which Recites the former Stat 3: W & M:<lb></lb>
Sect 1: Directs that no Justice of Peace shall Order Releife<lb></lb>
to any poor Person till Bath be made of a Reasonable Cause<lb></lb>
& Summons of Two of the Overseers of the Poor to show Cause<lb></lb>
why such Releife should not be given:</p>
<p n="479">Bet 2:- Be it further Enacted by the authority aforesd.<lb></lb>
that the Person whom such Justice of Peace shall think<lb></lb>
fitt to Order to be Received shall be Entered in such Book<lb></lb>
or Books so to be kept by the Parish as one of these who is <lb></lb>
to receive Collection as long as the Cause for such Releife<lb></lb>
continues & no longer & that no Officer of any Parish<lb></lb>
shall(Except upon sudden & Emergent Occasions)bring<lb></lb>
to the Account of the Parish any Monies he shall give to<lb></lb>
any poor Person of the same Parish who is not registered <lb></lb>
in such Book or Books to kept by the sd. Parish as a Person<lb></lb>
Entitiled to Receive Collection on Pain of Forfeiting the Sum<lb></lb>
of five Pounds to be levied by Dishess & Sale by Warrt: of any <lb></lb>
Two or more Justies of the Peace of the same County who</p>
