<p n="3934">The Minutes of the Prison Committee, of the 8th. January Instant,<lb></lb>
were read and confirmed.</p>
<p n="3935">Resolved that the consideration of the Minutes of the Prison<lb></lb>
Committee of the 19th. November last, be further adjourned till the Court<lb></lb>
after the Election of a Chaplain.</p>
<p n="3936">The Minutes of the Bethlem Committee of the 17th. January, Instant,<lb></lb>
were read and confirmed, whereby it appeared;</p>

<p n="3939">The Court took into further consideration the Report of the House<lb></lb>
Committee, respecting Artsmasters and Apprentices, and</p>

Resolutions<lb></lb>
Artsmars. to be of Church<lb></lb>
of England & Freemen.</note>
<lb></lb>
Resolved, That every Artsmaster admitted into this Hospital<lb></lb>
shall be a Member of the Church of England, as by Law established, and<lb></lb>
a Freeman of the City of London.</p>
<p n="3941"> <note type="authorial" place="margin">Candidates to produce<lb></lb>
Certificates.</note>
<lb></lb>
Resolved that Candidates for the Office of Artsmaster shall<lb></lb>
produce a Certificate of their Character, signed by three or more known<lb></lb>
and responsible persons; and also a Certificate of their Settlement.</p>

to be received by Comee.<lb></lb>
& Comee. to report to Cot.<lb></lb>
thereon.</note>

Resolved that the Petitions of Candidates shall be received by<lb></lb>
the House Committee and that the Committee shall report to the Court<lb></lb>
their Opinion of the Merits of the different Candidates, as Moral Men,<lb></lb>
and as to their ability, as Men of Business.</p>

House or Apartments<lb></lb>
free of Rent & Taxes.</note>
<lb></lb>
Resolved that every Artsmaster be allowed a House or Apartments<lb></lb>
put into substantial Repair free of Rent and all Taxes at present w<obscured></obscured>
ting<lb></lb>
except the Income Tax.</p>

in Repair.</note>

Resolved that every Artsmaster do Covenant to keep the same in<lb></lb>
Repair his own expence.</p>

Houses.</note>
<lb></lb>
Resolved tha the House Committee with the Surveyor shall<lb></lb>
regularly inspect the Artsmasters Houses once a Year or oftener</p>

to receive as apprents.<lb></lb>
such Boys as ordered.<lb></lb>
Not to take any Boy<lb></lb>
without consent of Comee.</note>

Resolved that every Artsmaster shall Covenant that he will<lb></lb>
from time to time take and receive into his Service as Apprentices, such<lb></lb>
and so many Boys as shall be ordered by a Court or Committee. of Governors,<lb></lb>
and as his House or Apartments will conveniently admit, but shall on no<lb></lb>
account</p>
