<p n="491">And at this Court they were ordered to be enquired after accordingly</p>

Bailiff to be elected.</note>

And upon Motion it was resolved by the Court that at the next General Court there should<lb></lb>
be elected a Bailiff of the Lincolnshire Estate with a Salary of £30 a year Etc as<lb></lb>
recommended by the House Committee the 5th September last notice of such intended<lb></lb>
Election to be inserted in the Summonses and that Mr. Bourne and Mr. Emmitt be<lb></lb>
informed thereof as well as that the late Office of Lincolnshire receiver is changed for<lb></lb>
that of Bailiff.</p>

<p n="494">The several Minutes of the Prison Committee of the 27th. July the 8th August the 12th September<lb></lb>
the 10th. October the 14th. November and the 28th November were then read whereby it<lb></lb>
appeared that the Committee had transacted the following business</p>
<p n="495">That the Committee had given orders to the Surveyor and Steward to take an inventory<lb></lb>
of all Fixtures Utensils and Implements belonging to the Prisons and Hemp<lb></lb>
Dresses Apartments which had been complied with.</p>
<p n="496">That they had ordered the Clerk to make copies of all the rules and orders respecting<lb></lb>
the Artsmasters Apprentices and Prisoners and their employments.</p>
<p n="497">That they had requested Mr Sharp to furnish the Clerk with a List of such Books as<lb></lb>
he thought would give the Committee any desireable information respecting the<lb></lb>
management of Prisoners and Paupers and their employment and ordered the Clerk<lb></lb>
to procure the same which had been done</p>
<p n="498">That they had ordered the Clerk to apply in the name of the Committee to the Town Clerk<lb></lb>
of the City of London and to the Clerk of Saint Thomas's Hospital for extracts<lb></lb>
from their Court Books of such rules and orders as respect the management of<lb></lb>
Prisoners and Pauper Patients.</p>
<p n="499">That they had ordered the Steward to procure the several Orders respecting Prisons as<lb></lb>
directed by Act of Parliament and have them properly printed and hung up in the<lb></lb>
Prisons which has since been done.</p>
<p n="500">And that the Committee having taken notice of an Act of the last Session of Parliament<lb></lb>
respecting Rogues and Vagabonds had ordered that in confermity to the said Act<lb></lb>
the correction of the House be not inflicted upon any Female Prisoner so committed in<lb></lb>
future.</p>
<p n="501">That <rs type="persName" id="BBBRMG20210_n501-1">John Hardwick</rs>

place which they had accepted and had ordered his Salary to be paid to Michas last.</p>
<p n="502">That in consequence of public Advertizement the Petitions of 14 several persons had been read<lb></lb>
for the place of Taskmaster and of superintending the Prisons.</p>
