<p n="4101">Continued Thursday 20th. July 1775</p>
<p n="4102">Committee for Building Black friers Bridge but they Apprehend the<lb></lb>
same when received will be not only sufficient to repay the above Loan<lb></lb>
but also have a Surplus for the Current Expences of these Hospitals all<lb></lb>
which Proceedings relating to their Conduct as to Receipts and payments this<lb></lb>
Committee Submit to such Audit as this Court shall think proper to Adopt<lb></lb>
not doubting but the same will meet with Approbation-</p>
<p n="4103">This Committee having already Presented to a former General Court<lb></lb>
sundry Rules and Orders for the better Government of these Hospital and the<lb></lb>
better Securing the Revenues thereof have nothing further to add to the said<lb></lb>
Report but they think it Incumbent on them to declare their Concern that many<lb></lb>
Regulations which Appeared to them to be very Salutary for those good proposes<lb></lb>
have not met with the Concurrence of the General Court as they were agreed on<lb></lb>
by the Committee on full Conviction of their Utility at present to prevent in<lb></lb>
future such Losses and Inconveniencies as have lately happen'd thro' the<lb></lb>
In attention or Neglect of those whose duly it was to Inspect and Report<lb></lb>
the State of these Hospitals to the Court and it being represented to this<lb></lb>
Committee that the certain Revenues of these Hospitals were not sufficient to<lb></lb>
defray the certain expences they thought it Incumbent on them tom further the<lb></lb>
Plan of Asconomy adopted by the General Court in letting the House<lb></lb>
Inhabited by the late treasurer to point out wherein there might be some<lb></lb>
Savings of the Outgoings of these Hospitals in future and it was with<lb></lb>
Concern this Committee perceived their good Intentions frustrated by the<lb></lb>
Increase of Salaries Unsolicited and to take place immediately and this at<lb></lb>
a time when the Accounts had not been Audited for the four preceding<lb></lb>
Years and consequently the several Proportions of the Annual Receipts and<lb></lb>
Disbursements could not be ascertained</p>
<p n="4104">This Committee having exerted their utmost and impartial endeavours<lb></lb>
throughout their whose proceedings for the benefit of these Hospitals cannot<lb></lb>
help<del>expressing throughout their whole Proceedings for the benefit of these<lb></lb>
Hospitals cannot help</del>
expressing their dissatisfaction at the Treatment<lb></lb>
they received from some governors which in their Opinion was derogatory from the<lb></lb>
good Order and decency of so respectable a Court</p>
<p n="4105">And this Committee do further Report that the following five<lb></lb>
Legacies two of which are conditional and three Reversionary which have<lb></lb>
been bequeathed to these Hospitals do not Appear to have been received<lb></lb>
and therefore do recommend to the General Court that the Clerk do<lb></lb>
make all necessary Enquires after the same and Report the Information he<lb></lb>
receives to the House Committee who may be empowered to give such further<lb></lb>
Directions therein as they think fit and Report their proceedings to the<lb></lb>
General Court.</p>
