willfull neglect of his duty And as to the psons comitted &<lb></lb>
discharged on the night of the late Riott It was a matter<lb></lb>
that was new & in Confusion and the examination Comittmt.<lb></lb>
& discharged were taken and transacted by two Alderman<lb></lb>
of this Citty Governors. of these Hospitals whose Jurisdiccon<lb></lb>
the Petr. could not deny and therefore hoped would have<lb></lb>
excused him And as to that and what other omissions have<lb></lb>
been he humbly beggd pardon of their Worshipps and hoped<lb></lb>
they would impute em to his great age and not to any willfull<lb></lb>
omission of his duty or disrespect of their Worshipps or any<lb></lb>
Simster ends to himselfe And if the Petr. by reason of his<lb></lb>
great age Should be thought incapable of pformeing the Duty<lb></lb>
of his said Office to the Satisfaccon of their Worshipps rather<lb></lb>
than incurr their displeasure he woud resigne and in respect<lb></lb>
of his great age & indisposition of body great family and<lb></lb>
long Service and that in all probability he cannot belong<lb></lb>
chargeable to 'em humbly Submitted himselfe and Station<lb></lb>
to their Worshipps and prayed that they would allow him<lb></lb>
Something for his life It is Ordered that the Consideracon<lb></lb>
of the sd Petition be referred to the Comee of this house<lb></lb>
who are to Report to this Court what they think fitt to be<lb></lb>
done therein</p>
