<p n="899">which Mr. Morgan replied that he would not remove the Tiles for<lb></lb>
Mr. Lewis or any one else and if any accident happened they<lb></lb>
(meaning the Contractor) must reinstate it and not this Dept.<lb></lb>
or words to that effect And this Deponent further Saith that<lb></lb>
from the time of the delivery of the above Letter continual complain<lb></lb>
were made by him that the Story Posts and Bresummers described<lb></lb>
in the Plans and particulars were not put up notwithstanding<lb></lb>
which no more than two Story Posts and one Bresummers were<lb></lb>
put up at the time the accident happened and which were only<lb></lb>
put up two days before and that part of the Building where they<lb></lb>
were put up is now standing And this Deponent further Saith<lb></lb>
that he verily believes the Accident of the falling down of the <obscured></obscured>

Building was occasioned by the workmen not putting up Story<lb></lb>
Posts and Bresummers on the ground floor and from not shoring<lb></lb>
the floors sufficiently to support them with the Bricks and<lb></lb>
Rubbish that was continually laid on and from taking down<lb></lb>
the part of the Back wall fronting the Church yard between the<lb></lb>
projecting parts without putting any Shores under the floors<lb></lb>
where such parts were taken down altho' repeatedly desired<lb></lb>
by this Deponent so to do And this Deponent further Saith<lb></lb>
that if the directions given by this Deponent had been followed<lb></lb>
he verily believes the Repairs and alterations might and would<lb></lb>
have been completed without any accident whatsoever from<lb></lb>
the falling of any part of the Building.</p>
