rendering the Charity as<lb></lb>
respectable as possible.<lb></lb>
Resolutions.The Committee took into further consideration the order of reference from the General Court<lb></lb>
for rendering the Charity and Prison of <rs type="placeName" id="GLBRMB20101_geo29">Bridewell</rs>
<interp inst="GLBRMB20101_geo29" type="placeName" value="Bridewell"></interp>
<interp inst="GLBRMB20101_geo29" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
as respectable and as extensively useful as<lb></lb>
possible and agreed to the following resolutions.</p>
<p n="376">Prisoners ought to be Kept<lb></lb>
in Solitary Confinemt. Ct.That all Prisoners who are sent to this Hospital for punishment ought to be kept in<lb></lb>
solitary confinement and a reasonable portion of Work assigned them to perform everyday.</p>
<p n="377">Vagrants to be passed,<lb></lb>
not to be confined in<lb></lb>
Solitary Cells Ct.That all Vagrants committed to this Hospital to be passed to their respective Parishes<lb></lb>
be not confined in solitary Cells but that they be obliged to perform the same proportion<lb></lb>
of work as the Prisoners.</p>

provided forThat to prevent the return of such Prisoners as are discharged to their old habits of<lb></lb>
pilfering and stealing Workshops be filled up where such Prisoners as chuse to work till<lb></lb>
they can get into better employment shall receive the full amount of their daily earnings<lb></lb>
making such allowance for the provisions of the House as the Prison Committee shall from<lb></lb>
time to time think fit.</p>
<p n="379">Buildings to be alteredThat to carry the above resolutions into effect they are of opinion that the whole of the<lb></lb>
North and West side of the Inner Court including the Womens Prison be converted into<lb></lb>
Ranges of seperate Apartments for solitary confinement and Labor The Ground Floor to be<lb></lb>
appropriated for general Workshops with a Gallery of Communication and inspection<del>in the</del>
<lb></lb>
<del>back part</del>
through the whole adapting such apartments as may be most convenient for the<lb></lb>
residence of the Servants.</p>
<p n="380">Surveyor to examine &<lb></lb>
Report thereupon.That the Surveyor be directed to examine and report to the Committee as soon as possible<lb></lb>
how far the parts above mentioned<obscured></obscured>
capable of being so adapted with an Estimate of<lb></lb>
the expence.</p>
<p n="381">And in order to obtain <obscured></obscured>
session of the said North and West side of the Quadrangle<lb></lb>
