<p n="366">Clerks Notice to Artmrs.The Clerk informed the Committee he had sent a copy of the following notice to<lb></lb>
each of the Artsmasters "Bridewell and Bethlem Hospitals London November 29th. 1792<lb></lb>
"Sir In conformity to the Resolution of the Court held here this day I am to inform you<lb></lb>
"That at a General Court of Governors held the 14th. June last it was determined that<lb></lb>
"The Institution of Artsmasters and Apprentices ought to be abolished That on the<lb></lb>
"Election day the 12th. July following you were in consequence re-elected during the<lb></lb>
"Pleasure of the Court and that this day It was Ordered by the Court that a<lb></lb>
"written notice be sent to each of the Artsmasters to acquaint them with the<lb></lb>
"determination of the Court to resume the whole of the premises now occupied<lb></lb>
"by them which notice I hereby give and also acquaint you that the Prison<lb></lb>

that they be Superannuated<lb></lb>
also that the<lb></lb>
Senior Beadle & Wife are<lb></lb>
Competent for those Offices.Resolved that it is the opinion of this Committee that the present Matron<lb></lb>
and Porter being incapable from age and infirmities of performing their respective<lb></lb>
duties ought to be superannuated upon such annuities as the Court may think fit<lb></lb>
And the Committee is further of opinion that the Senior Beadle and his wife<lb></lb>
are properly qualified and fully competent to perform the several Duties of Porter<lb></lb>
and Matron with such salary as the Court may think fit and that in the present<lb></lb>
state of the Prisons it will not be necessary to Elect another Beadle.</p>

how for they are authorized to commit persons to this<lb></lb>
Hospital for the purpose of being kept in safe custody who are afterwards to receive<lb></lb>
their punishment by order of Sessions and also diseased and sick persons until<lb></lb>
they can be admitted into the Hospital This Committee being of opinion that such<lb></lb>
Committments are not within the intention of this Institution which requires that all<lb></lb>
persons admitted into the <rs type="placeName" id="GLBRMB20101_geo27">Hospital of Bridewell</rs>
