; we are linen-drapers
, and live in Coventry-street
: in the evening of the 6th of June the prisoner and another woman came into the shop under pretence of buying a gown (I think they said the gown was for the prisoner) but they did not buy any thing; a woman in the shop told us the prisoner had concealed a piece of lawn; I searched her and found a piece of lawn concealed under her cloak.
[The piece of lawn was produced in court, and deposed to by Mr. Jenkins.]
The prisoner did not say any thing in her defence.
GUILTY of stealing to the value of ten-pence
