501. HANNAH ROBINSON proceedingsdefend was indicted for stealing a piece of lawn containing five yards, value fifteen shillings , the property of Thomas Rowl proceedingsvictim , Thomas Jenkins proceedingsvictim , and John Blake proceedingsvictim , June 6th .

I am in partnership with Thomas Rowl < no role > and John Blake < no role > ; we are linen-drapers , and live in Coventry-street : in the evening of the 6th of June the prisoner and another woman came into the shop under pretence of buying a gown (I think they said the gown was for the prisoner) but they did not buy any thing; a woman in the shop told us the prisoner had concealed a piece of lawn; I searched her and found a piece of lawn concealed under her cloak.

[The piece of lawn was produced in court, and deposed to by Mr. Jenkins.]

The prisoner did not say any thing in her defence.

GUILTY of stealing to the value of ten-pence . W .

Tried by the First Middlesex Jury before Mr. Justice NARES.
