As Joseph Smith < no role > , a carman, was going with his cart from the custom house to the prosecutor's with the snuff and other goods, he rested his cart by the way to carry a parcel to another gentleman's house. When he returned he missed the cask of snuff The prisoner, and another person who made his escape, were detected in selling it in Shoemaker Row. (The cask produced in court and deposed to.) Guilty 39 s .
