James Howard proceedingsdefend , was indicted for feloniously stealing seven Ounces of Goat's Hair, value 28 s. on the 1st of October last, the Property of Mr. Wigmore proceedingsvictim ; but the Evidence against him not being plain there being several Persons in the Room where the Hair was, and that when it was laid to the Prisoner's Charge it was wet, and consequently could not weigh so much after curl'd and drawn; and the Prisoner having an extraordinary Character from several reputable Witnesses, the Jury acquitted him.
