Christian Freeman proceedingsdefend , of St. Andrews Holbourn , was indicted for privately stealing from the Person of John Miles proceedingsvictim a Pair of Leather Saddle-Bags, 2 Holland Shirts, 2 Holland Neckclothes, with other Things , the Goods of the said John Miles < no role > , on the 22d of Novem. last. He was indicted again for privately Stealing from the Person of James Butcher proceedingsvictim , a Pair of Leather Saddle Bags, with Linnen and other Things , on the Date aforesaid: It appear'd that the Prosecutors, riding together in Holbourn, observ'd the Prisoner to dog them from place to place, and Miles missing of his Bags saw the Prisoner drop them from him and run away. It further appear'd, that riding a little further Butcher miss'd his Bags, and seeing the Prisoner with them, cried, Stop Thief, upon which he was apprehended. The Fact being plain, and he saying nothing in his Defence, the Jury found him guilty of Felony.
