Ann Pickering proceedingsdefend , of St. Anns Westminster , was Indicted for feloniously Stealing a Stuff Mantua Gown and Petticoat, a suit of Headcloaths and other things to the value of 14 s. the Goods of Mary Hownsby proceedingsvictim . She was a 2d time Indicted for Stealing a Norwich Stuff Gown and Petticoat, and 3 Dowlace Smocks, with other things to the value of 14 s. the Goods of Mary Sylvester proceedingsvictim , on the 8th of June last. The Evidence depos'd that the Prisoner lodg'd in the same House with the Prosecutors, that she took her Opportunity while the Prosecutors were from Home, to enter their Lodgings, and took the Goods: That she was taken with the Gowns and Petticoats upon her Body and the rest of the things bundled upin order to carry them off. The Facts being plain, the Jury found her Guilty to the value of 10 d.
