Christopher Ashley, alias Browne proceedingsdefend was Tryed for Felony, Burglary and Sacriledge, in Robbing the Parish Church of Great St. Bartholomews, London , in November 1689, carrying away the Pulpit Cloth, and all the Communion Plate, of very great value . The Evidence was, That he confest that he was assisting to Collet, (who was Executed last Sessions) in stealing the plate, and that he had 30l. to his share. The Prisoner denyed it, but he had no Proof on his side, he was found Guilty of the Indictment.
