Examination Text | Mary Ray aged 51 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Charles Ray (gone from her about 17 years) to whom she was married at the ffeet about 20 years ago, that he was a Peruke Maker by trade and served his apprenticeship in St Martin's Court in St Martin's Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields (but to whom she can't tell) but when the same expired she cannot tell, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since to her knowledge. Sworn the 10th day of November 1750 before James Fraser. |
