Examination TextThe Examination of Margaret Waterson wife of William Waterson a Peruke Maker in Water Lane in Fleet Street taken upon oath this 31st Day of October 1752. This Examinant upon her oath says that James Wishart (now sick at Mr Dovey's in Earls Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields), [is] this Examinant's son by Alexander Wishart (her former husband) who has been dead about 18 years to whom she was married at the ffleet about 27 years ago, that the said Alexander Wishart was a Carpenter by trade and was born and served his apprenticeship at Forabus in the County of Banff North Britain, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes afterwards, that her said son James was born in Off Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields the 11th Day of July in the year 1727, that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together. Sworn the day and year abovesaid before Benjamin Cox.
