Examination TextJane Evans aged 19 Years removed from St Giles in the ffields upon her Oath saith that she was never Married nor bound Apprentice , that she was a Yearly hired Servant to Mr Thomas Reynolds Apothy No 8 Craigs Court Charing Cross in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields within the Liberty of Westminster for the full space of Twelve Months & upwards all under one hiring at the Yearly Wages of ffive Guineas diet and lodging quitted the same the latter end of August last since which she had done ACT to gain a subsequent Settlement. And that this Examinant upon her voluntary Oath further saith that she was on their 29th Day of February last delivered at Dr Clarks Hospital in Store Street Tottenham Court Road ( which is duly licenced for the public reception of pregnant Women) of a ffemale Bastard Child since baptised Ann yet living and no chargeable to the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields and that Matthew harvison who was Shop Man to Mr Reynolds had several Times carnal Knowledge of her body & did beget of her Body the said ffemale Bastard Child & that he the said Matthew Harvison is the true & only ffather thereof & no Man else. Sworn this 3d Day of May 1792 before me Wm Hyde Jane Evans her Mark.
