Examination TextElizabeth Gibson aged 26 years and upwards lodging at Mr Holmes's a Taylor No.2 in Orange Street in the Parish of St Martin the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Adam Gibson (who died the sixth day of May last) to whom she was married at St Martin's Church of this Parish between four and five years ago, that her said husband was born in that part of Great Britain called Scotland is she this Examinant hath been informed and verily believes, that her said husband was a Taylor by trade and was a Covenant Servant to Mr Thornthwaite a Taylor in Goodwins Court in St Martin's Lane in the Parish aforesaid for the space of two years at the yearly wages of 5 pounds for the first year and 7 pounds 10 shillings for the second year, diet and lodging and washing, that her said husband served his said Master in Goodwins Court aforesaid for the space of one year and an half of the said term all at one time and then quitted his said Master's service as the said Mr Thornthwaite hath declared in the presence of this Examinant, her said husband being single and unmarried as she this Examinant believes, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly servant in any one place for 12 months together after he quitted the said Mr Thornthwaite's service to this Examinant's knowledge, that she this Examinant hath not kept house rented tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since the death of her said husband, that she hath two children by her said husband to wit Margaret aged four years the 17th of June last and John aged about three years and an half both now with this Examinant.
