Examination Text | The Examination of Sarah Dennis passed as a vagrant from the Parish of St. James within the liberty of Westminster to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the said liberty taken this 16th of August 1774. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 30 years of age, that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Pickard a Taylor next but one beyond Langley Street in Long Acre in the said Parish for the space of two years and an half all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 3 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the said service about six months ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since.
