Examination Text | Margaret Smalkham aged 61 years upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Smalkham (who died 24 years ago), that since the death of her said husband she (having no child living) was a yearly hired servant to Mr Thomas Wright a Coachmaker in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of three years and upwards all under one hiring at the yearly wages of eight Guineas and an half diet and lodging, quitted the same about 10 or 11 years ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 26th Day of February 1782 before William Hyde. |
