Examination TextThe Examination of Elizabeth Williams Taken this 28th Day of January 1779. This Examinant on her Oath saith she is 53 years of age, Upon her Oath saith she is the Widow of William Hall Williams who died the 7th day of August in the year 1773 to whom she Married at the Parish Church of Llanweneath in the County of Carmarthen the 22nd Day of Augt. about 25 years ago, That her said Husband was a staymaker by Trade and lived in and Rented an House in Lumley Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of six years and three quarters of a year at the yearly rent of ten pounds for six years and an half of the said time and ten pounds twelve shillings for the year remaining quarter of a year [sic] besides taxes, quitted the same about five years ago, That her said husband never kept house or rented a tenement of ten pounds by the year paid any Parish taxes afterwards, That she hath not kept house or rented a tenement of ten pounds by the year paid any Parish taxes since the death of her said Husband, That she hath a child by her said Husband to wit Anna Maria aged 14 years last July, which said Anna Maria never was Married bound an Apprentice nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for twelve months together. Sworn the 18th Day of January 1779, Before Tho. Ballard. Remd. from the Parish of Christ Church in the County of Surrey by an Order of Two Justices 6th Novr. [1752? 1782?]
