Examination TextThe Examination of Sarah Goubart Removed by Order of Removal of Two of His Majesty?s Justices of the Peace from the Parish of Saint James within the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex, to the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields in the Liberty of the County aforesaid taken this 31st Day of July 1780. This Examinant on her Oath saith that she is 57 years of age, That she is the Wife of David Gaubart (gone from her these [?] years) to whom she was Married at the Fleet about Twenty Nine years ago, That her said Husband was a Dyer by Trade and Lived in and rented an apartment of Eleven Pounds by the Year next door to the sign of the Porto Bello in Saint Martin?s Lane in the said Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields for the space of Three Years Quitted the same between Nine and Ten years ago, That her said husband hath not kept house or rented a tenement of ten pounds by the year paid any Parish taxes nor was a yearly hired Servant in any one place for twelve months together since to this Examinant?s Knowledge nor hath she this Examinant since. Sworn this 31st Day of July 1780 Before William Hyde. 60-168 This a lie.
