| Examination Text | Tobias Read aged Seventy three years (in the Workhouse) past from St George Southwark Saith he was Married to Sarah his wife at Edgware in Middlesex fforty Six years agoe last Christmas Day that he is a Carpenter and Served his Time at Edgware and after kept House the Sign of the Dolphin in Bedford Bury near new Street which he rented of a Bricklayer the next Door there in this parish and paid twenty pounds Pr Ann Rent about three years & a Quarter and never kept any House of or Rented ten pounds Pr Ann or paid any Parish Taxes Since hath two Daughters living Sarah Married to a Butcher in St Clements and Winifred Married to a Brass ffounder in Southwark Sworn the Day of 1736 before remd fr St Geo Southwark |
