Examination Text | Hindmass Sowerby aged 32 Years removed from the Parish of Saint Mary le Strand upon his Oath saith that he was bound by an Indenture bearing Date the First Day of January 1771for Seven Years to Mr Charles Thirkill of Bedford Street in the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields within the Liberty of Westminster Plumber and served his said Master the whole of the said Term of Years and which expired Janry 1st/78 and since the expiration of which he hath not rented Ten Pounds by the year been a Yearly hired Servant in any one place for Twelve Months together nor done any Act whereby to acquire a subsequent Settlement. That he was Married to his Present wife Lucy at the Parish Church of Alverstoke in the County of Southton one the 3rd Day of June 1782 by whom he has issue Two children to wit William born July 3rdt/84 & George born Augt 21st/86 and Elizabeth born Jany 24/th93.
