Examination TextJames Wishart aged 60 Years upon his Oath saith that he never was bound Apprentice rented a Tenement of Ten Pounds by the Year paid any Parish Taxes nor done any Act whereby to gain any Settlement in his own right that he is the lawful issue of Alexander Wishart by his Wife Margaret both of whom are deceased, that his said late Father was a Native of North Britain & never to this Examinants Knowledge & belief did any Act whereby to gain any Settlement in England, that this Examinant hath been informed and verily believes to be true that he was born on the 11th day of July in the Year 1727 in Off Alley in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields within the liberty of Westminster. And this Examinant further saith that he was Married to his present Wife Elizabeth at the Parish Church of St. Bridget oth St. Bride in the City of London about 19 Years ago by whom he hath issue One Child to wit James aged Nine Years last July now living with this Examinant & George aged. // Sworn this 15th Sept 1787 before John Collick // [signed James Wishart] // P
