Examination TextThe Examination of Dorothy Fendall Singlewoman taken on Oath this Day of in the year of our Lord 1733 Westnr to wit} Who upon her Oath she is about Twenty four years of Age was past from saint Giles in the ffields in the County of Middlesex now in the workhouse of and belonging to the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields in the County aforesaid Saith she was never married that she was born in King Street in the Parish of Saint Margaret westminster where her ffather Edward Fendall kept House several years Saith she was bound an Apprentice by Indenture for seven years saith she was bound an Apprentice by Indenture for seven years to one Mrs Flower a Milliner then lodging at one Mr Randalls a Pewterer near Bull Inn Court in the Strand whom she served there the whole Term which expired about seven years agoe and that she never kept House rented ten pounds by the year paid any Parish Taxes or was a yearly hired servant since She further on her voluntary Oath saith she is now big with Child And that one Giles Townsend a Cabinet Maker now or lately working Journeywork to his ffather Giles Townsend at Nottingham Court near KIngs Street in the parish of Saint Giles in the ffields had sometime about the latter end of January or the beginning of February last the Carnal Knowledge of her Body at her Lodging on her Bed in a Room on the one pair of stairs forward in the House of one Mr King in Brittish Court near Saint Giles's Pound in the parish of Saint Giles in the ffields where they lay together all night and Several Times since elsewhere And she further also saith that he the said Giles Townsend at one of the aforesaid Times did beget on her Body the Child or Children she now goeth with and is pregnant of and no Man else Sworn the Day and year above written before
