Examination TextJoan Templar aged about 60 years lodging at one Mr Oakley in St Martins Lane Saith she is the widow of Christopher Templer Deced abt 28 years Since to whom she was Married at St Martins Church about 34 years agoe That he was by Trade a Perfumer of Gloves and Served his Apprenticeship of 7 years to one Mr Scott then living in Bell Alley now CharlesCourt in the Strand Since the Expiration of which her Husband kept House in Baylys Alley upwards of 20 years in a former Wifes and this Examinants times paid 9£Pr Ann Rent and paid to the Poor and that she this Examinant kept the said House abt 11 years after her Husbands Decease and quitted it about 17 years agoe and never kept House never rented 10£ Pr Ann or paid any Parish Taxes since Saith she was a yearly hired Servant Since her Husbands Decease to one Mr Dewell a Stationer near Salisbury Street in the Strand two years had 5£ Pr Ann Wages Diet and Lodging left the same about 9 years agoe and never was a yearly hired servant since Saith she hath two Daughters living by her said Husband both at service Jurat 3d die Augusti Anno Dom 1732 coram Wm Jones The mark of Joan Templer
