Examination TextThe Examination of Eliz: Jones taken upon Oath this Twenty Third day of August Anno Dom 1728. Who upon her Oath Saith she is the wido of Edward Jones who died abt 2 years and an half agoe and that she is abt 32 years of Age and Lodges in Bennets Court in the Strand in the parish of St Martin in the ffields and further upon her Oath saith she was delivered of two Female Bastard Children (vizt one on the 29th of September since Christened Elizabeth and the other on the 30th of September since Christened Mary) at her abovesaid Lodging and further upon her Oath Saith that one Christopher Cane who was lately a Servt as Coachman to Mr Southwell in Spring Garden had Carnall Knowledge of her Body at her abovesaid Lodging in Bennets Court sometime abt Xmas last and Severall times since and that he the sd Christopher Camm is the true and only Father of the sd two Female Bastard Children & no Man Else
