Examination Text | John Shirwin aged 63 years lodging at one Mr William Russell's in Bennetts Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith he is a Lace Weaver by trade and was bound apprentice by indenture for the space of seven years to one Mr Charles Angmoody who lived at the Spread Eagle in Fishamble Street in the city of Dublin in the Kingdom of Ireland and there served him four years of his time, and then his Master died since which time he lived a hired servant to one Mr Thomas Wynn in Lumley Court opposite Salisbury Street in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there lived three years at 10 pounds by the year diet and lodging, quitted the same about 38 years ago and never was a yearly hired servant since, that he kept house in Brewers Court Bedfordbury in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, that he has a wife and one son (to wit) John age of 27 years. Sworn this 19th Day of March 1746 before James Fraser. |
