DescriptionRead a Letter from the Recorder of London, recommending George Davenport, a young man, 20 years of age, of the Parish of St. Clements Danes, Strand, whose sentence had been respited, in order that he might have an Opportunity of being restored to virtuous Society thro' the provisions of this Institution. His Father & mother live No. 3 Ray street, Clerkenwell: he has served four years & a half apprenticeship to Mr. Nichols Printer in Red Lion Court, Fleetstreet: being much in want of clothes, he stole 2 Reams of Foolscap-paper with the intention of converting it into money; but suspicions of his dishonesty having arisen, his lodgings, No. 3 Blewett's Buildings, were searched & the paper found: he was apprehended, committed & convicted. He acknowledges having formerly taken some books from his master, which his Father, not knowing then to have been dishonestly obtained, sold for ?3. - Admitted.
