DescriptionRead the Petition of Sarah Saunders, 19 years of age of the Parish of St. Bride, her mother living at No. 26 Turnmill street, Clerkenwell, convicted at the Old Bailey of stealing a Handkerchief out of a Gentleman's Pocket & giving it to a young man, now under confinement in Newgate for the offence. She avers that she did not steal it; but that a gentleman gave it her in lieu of Money, & that she afterwards went into the street & met the said young man, whom she knew & gave it Him; Which transaction being seen by a constable, he apprehended them & on his testimony they were convicted. Admitted.
