Minutes of the last Committee.
Read
Mr. Heath reported that Mr. Brown the Assignee of the
Houses in St. Clement Lane asked £700 for the Remainder of
his Term therein being thirty five Years & thirty Seven Pound a
Year Ground Rent which being a considerable Sum more than
they apprehended the sd. Houses were worth did not proceed any
further in this Matter.
And upon Examining the Ground for the New Building-
they found they could not make a Foundation & for that reason
did not make an Estimate of the Expence.

Ordered & agreed that Mr. Meadman do make an Estimate
of the Expence Repairs of the Schoole House & Alms Houses
& what Number of Poor they will contain & report the same to
this Board the 27th- Inst. at 4 o'Clock in the afternoon
Ordered & agreed that Mr. Meadman do make an Estimate
of an Aditionall Range of Rooms over the Alms Houses with
a Stair case at ye. End & also that Mr. Heath make an
