Mr Marchant stated to the Vestry the present
embarrassment of the parish that Debts of the year 1792(when
he was Treasurer)to the Amount of about £300 were still
owing and that several of the Creditors complained exceedingly
he Requested that the Vestry would be pleased to direct that
the Money from Mr. Manning's Estate now in the hands of
Messrs Snow & Co. and the Balance paid over by the late
Upper Churchwarden should be applied for the purpose of
discharging such Debts

Mr Churchwarden Oddy then informed the Vestry that his
Expences (as Churchwarden)would fall very heavy from the
repair of the Almshouses from Bills just delivered in for
Work done, in the time of former Churchwardens,-so that
he apprehended he should himself stand in need of Mr.
Sumner's Balance to discharge those and defray the
usual expences of the year, he therefore hoped to have the
expenditure of that Balance and that some other mode
might be adopted for payment of such Debts of they are 1792
as should remain owing after the application of the above
mentioned monies from Manning's Este & Securities
