Chessall one the Candidates for Vestry Clerk<lb></lb>
(in these Words following) "Mr: Chessall<lb></lb>
"presents his Compliments to Mr. Wingrove, has<lb></lb>
"to acquaint him that he does not intend to give<lb></lb>
"him or the Parishioners in General any further<lb></lb>
"Trouble in respect to the Election of a Vestry<lb></lb>
"Clerk of this Parish. Mr. Wingrove is therefore<lb></lb>
"at Liberty to close the Poll as soon as he pleased<lb></lb>
"Serle Street fryday Eveng. 8th. Octo:1784.</p>
<p n="2632">The Poll was accordingly closed.<lb></lb>
Mr. Wingrove cast up the Poll Books and it<lb></lb>
appeared that the Numbers were for Mr. Chessall<lb></lb>
233. For Mr. Jennings 544. That therefore<lb></lb>
there was a Majority for the said Mr. Jennings<lb></lb>
of 311 Votes. Mr. Wingrove thereupon declare<obscured></obscured>
<lb></lb>
Mr. Jennings duly elected Vestry Clerk.</p>
