for every such Contract or agreement forfeit and pay the Sum
of One Hundred Pounds-And by the said Act it is afterwards
provided-That nothing therein shall Extend to prevent
persons of the same Parish from Entring into Subscriptions
among of themselves for paying jointly for any Substitute or
Substitutes who may be provided for anyone or more of the
Subscribing persons on whom the Lot may fall,

The Vestry, therefore in pusuance of the Powers Contained
in the said Proviso

Resolved

That Books be Opened to receive subscriptions of all Men
whether Householders Lodgers or servants from the Age of
Eighteen to forty five Years resident within this Parish and
inclined to Enter into Subscriptions for the purposes in
the said Proviso mentioned And that every such person
who shall pay a Subscription of Four Shillings, to Mr.
Sidebotham Deputy Vestry Clerk of this Parish at his
House No. 45 Carey Street where proper Receipts of
Indemnity for one Year in this or any other Parish in the
County of Middlesex Signed by the Parish Officers will be
delivered to those who choose to Embrace so favourable an
Opportunity to prevent them from so Expensive and
troublesome an Employment
