Jane Leaver< no role > aged about 31 Years upon
Oath says she was never Married and that she
lived a hired Yearly Servant with Mr. Herbert at
Toms Coffeehouse in Devereux Court in the Parish
of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex
for One Year and upwards at the Yearly Wages of
Six Pounds, hath quitted said Service abt. Seven
Years and hath not since Rented Ten Pounds a
Year paid Taxes or lived a hired Yearly Servant
for One Year, And further upon her Voluntary
Oath says she is pregnant with Child or Children
which is or are likely to be born a Bastard or
Bastards and to become chargeable to the said
Parish of St. Clement Danes she being poor &
unable to Maintain the same when born; says
that Thos. Ashfield< no role > who works at Mr. Maydwell's a
Glasscutter opposite Norfolk Street in the Strand
had carnal knowledge of this Examinants body
on or about the 14th, daydayof November 1765, and
at several other times since at one of which times
he got her with Child of the sd Child or Children and
that the said Thos. Ashfield< no role > and no other Person
did beget the same.
