The Examination of Elizth. ThompsonSmith< no role > Lodging in
the Parish of St. Clemt. Danes in the County of
Middx taken the 25th. Day of Novr. 1740 Who upon
her Oath saith that she is a Singlewoman & was never
Marryed & that abt. 12 years ago she lived a Yearly hired Servt . with
one Mr. Gee at the Rose Alehouse in St. Clemts. Lane
in the Parish of St. Clemt. Danes in the County of Middx for the Space of one
Year & Six Months at the Yearly Wages of Three
Pounds & hath been come away from the same about
12 Years & further saith that she hath not since that
time rented any House pd. Parish Taxes lived with
any Person as a Yearly hired Servt. or otherwise gained
a Settlemt. in any other Place to her knowledge or
beleife & is at this Time Sick & Poor & not able to
maintaine herselfe
