Eliz Elmer< no role > als Lawrance< no role > upon Oath Saith
she lived a Yearly Servant whilst a Singlewoman
with Jno. Chamberlain< no role > in the Parish of Darking in the
County of Surry for one Year at the yearly wages of £2.
and that after she quitted that Service she was
married to Jno. Lawrance< no role > at the Fleet London
of whose Settlement She can give no Account
and that the sd Jno. Lawrance< no role > dyed abt. 8 Years ago
That abt. Seven Years since she went to a house [..]
ye Fleet with Saml. Elmer< no role > since deceased with Intent to
be there married to him but as both herself and
the said Elmer were at that time quite intoxicated
with Liquor this Examinant can't tell whether the
Marriage was Solemnized or not but she is pretty
certain there was no Ring used, and that the sd.
late Saml. Elmer told her the morning after
this Affair happen'd that he did not know whether
they were married or not, that no other person
besides one Howell was with them at the Fleet
& that the sd Howell is since deceased
That about a year before this Margt. Elmer
(the wife of the above mentioned Saml Elmer,) was
Transported and the sd. Saml. Elmer< no role > told this
Examinant he had heard his said Wife
