Sarah Wright< no role > aged 34 Years upon Oath saith
that she never was married and that [..] about the
Day of
four Years ago she was delivered of a female bastd.
Child in the house of Mr Wright (this Examints. father) in
Star Court in the Butcher Row in the parish of St Clement
Danes in the County of Middx which was baptized Mary< no role >
& is still living & now Chargeable to the sd. parish
and that James Gritton a Staymaker did beget the
sd. female bastard Child on her body the sd James Gritton
having for a Year (or thereabouts) proceding the Birth
of the sd. Child cohabited with this Examinant as
her husband during which time he had carnal
knowledge of her body sevl. times, at one of which
times he got her with Child of the sd female bastard
Child of which she was delivered as aforesaid and
that the said James Gritton< no role > & no man else is the
true & real father thereof and further upon
her Oath saith that on the 23d. of March 1749/50
she was delivered of a male bastard Child, since
baptized John James< no role > at the sd Mr Wrights house in
Star Court aforesd. which is likewise living & Chargeable to the sd Parish and that the sd. James Gritton< no role >
did beget the said male bastard Child on her
body, they still Cohabiting together as man & wife
& hat the sd. James Gritton & no other person is
the true and real father thereof
