Elizabeth Brabrook< no role > Aged about Thirty Seven Years on her Oath
says She never was Married Rented House paid Taxes
or Served any Apprenticeship says She lived a hired yearly
Servant with one Mr. Hargrave who keeps the Rainbow Coffee
House in Cornhill in the Parish of Saint Michaels Cornhill
London for three years at the yearly Wages of seven Pounds hath
quitted her said Service About Eight Years ago since which
time She hath gained no other Settlement And further on her
Voluntary Oath says that on the 16th. Day of September last
She was Delivered of a male Bastard Child at No. 2 at
Mrs. Buzzards in Wych-Alley in the Parish of Saint Clement
Danes which hath since been Baptized by the Name of
Ruiz Brabrook< no role > and is become Chargeable to the same She
being Poor and Unable to Maintain the said Child and
further says that one John Ruiz< no role > who Lately Lodged at the
Union Coffee House in the Strand had Carnal knowledge of
her Body sometime in the Month of December 1779 at the
Sign of the Bull & Gate in Holbourn and at sevl. Different
times [..] Afterwards at her this Examinants Lodgings at one
of which times he got her with Child of the Male Bastard
Child of which She was so Delivered as aforesaid and that
the said John Ruiz< no role > and no other Person Did beget the
same and that he is the real and true Father thereof
