Mary Gill< no role > upon Oath saith that about 20 Years ago she
was married to one Thomas Sturgis< no role > at Kingston in Surry who
was afterwards tryd and transported for Bigamy he having a Wife
living when he intermarryed with this Examinant and that
about 8 Yrs. ago she lived a Yearly Servant with Mr. John Harding< no role >
in Devereux Court in the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the
County of Middx at the Yearly Wages of £5 for 1 Year & 9 months
that after having quitted Mr Hardings Service she went & lived
with Mrs. Edwards in Holborn Row Lincolns Inn fields and
that the sd. Mrs. Edwards agreed to give her 4s. a week for the first
half Year to look after the house whilst the family was in the County
& at her coming to Town again made a further Agreement
with her for 2s..6d a week Dyet Washing & Lodging & and or
this last Agreement she continued with Mrs. Edwards another
half Year and that she Constantly lay in the house in
Holborn Row aforesaid the whole Twelve months in rest 10 weeks in the first Yr. when she was in Lodging & had no Wages and
that she has not since rented ten pounds a Year paid Parish
Taxes lived Yearly Servant for one Year or otherwise
gained a Settlement in any other place to her knowledge
or belief
