<p n="2977">the Governors of such several Hospitals respectively<lb></lb>
according to the modes of proceeding in such cases<lb></lb>
which has prevailed for very many Years One of<lb></lb>
such Leases from each Hospital was deposited<lb></lb>
in the Chamberlain's Office for the said City with<lb></lb>
a Docket for each Lease in the usual form to procure<lb></lb>
the seal of the said Hospitals to be put thereto and<lb></lb>
on the 7th.. of April 1778 the Clerks of the said Hospitals<lb></lb>
severally attended a Court of Aldermen then held<lb></lb>
for the said City and such Leases from the respective<lb></lb>
Hospitals being brought into that Court and they<lb></lb>
being called into the same Court severally<lb></lb>
requested that such seal should be affixed to<lb></lb>
those Leases as usual After which they withdrew<lb></lb>
And being called in again they were informed by<lb></lb>
the Town Clerk that he had the order of that<lb></lb>
Court to deliver them Copies of the said<lb></lb>
Resolutions or Orders of the Court of Common<lb></lb>
Council of the 4th.. day of March 1778 and of the<lb></lb>
resolution or order of the said Court of Lord<lb></lb>
Mayor and Aldermen of the 17th.. day of the same<lb></lb>
months and which were afterwards delivered<lb></lb>
to the purport or effect herein before stated That<lb></lb>
the Clerks of the said Hospitals not being<lb></lb>
able to procure the seal of or belonging to the<lb></lb>
said Hospitals to be affixed to the said Leases<lb></lb>
or either of them and the interests of all the said<lb></lb>
Hospitals being very materially affected and<lb></lb>
likely to be greatly prejudiced by the with-<lb></lb>
holding the said seal they applied again to<lb></lb>
the said Chamberlain's Office and left a Lease</p>
