The Order of Millington Buckley< no role > Clerk and
John Dalrymple< no role > Esquire two of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace in and for the said County one whereof is
of the Quorum, and both residing next unto the Limits
of the Parish Church within the Parish of St. Mary le
Bone in the said County
made the Twenty eighth Day of July in the Year of
our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety
Eight concerning a Male
Bastard Child, lately born in the Westminster Iying in Hospital
on the Surry side of Westminster Bridge aforesaid,of the Body of
Mary Ann Roun< no role > Single Woman she being
a Parishioner in the Parish of St. Mary le Bone

WHEREAS it hath appeared unto us the said Justices, as well upon the Com-
plaint of the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish
of St. Maryle Bone as upon the Oath of the said Mary Ann Roun< no role >
that she the said Mary Ann Roun< no role > on the Eighteenth Day of
MayJune now last past, was delivered of a Male Bastard Childt theHouse
Westminster Lesing in Hospital on the surry side of [..] Stamenster Bridge in the said County of Surry in the said
and that the said Male Bastard Child islikely to bechargeable
to the said Parish of St. Mary le Bone and further, that William Campbell< no role >
of King Street Goden Square in the [..] Parish of St James Westminster Salesman did beget the said
Bastard Child on the Body of her the said Mary Ann Roun< no role > and Whereas
the said william Campbell< no role > hath appeared Before us in pursuance of our summons
for that purpose, but hath not shewed any sufficient cause why
he the said William Campbell< no role > shall not be the reputed Father of the said Bastard Child
We therefore, upon Examination of the Cause and Circumstance of the Premises, as
well upon the Oath of the said Mary Ann Roun as otherewise, do hereby
adjudge him the said William Campbell< no role > to be the reputed Father of the
said Bastard Child.

And thereupon we do order, as well for the better Relief of the said Parish of
St Mary le Bone as for the Sustentation and Relief of the said Bastard Child, that
the said William Campbill< no role > shall and do forthwith, upon Notice of this our Order,
pay or cause to be paid to the said Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish of St Mary Bone or to some or one of them, the Sum of Three Shillings
for and towards the Lying-in of the said Mary Ann Roun, and the Main-
tenance of the said Bastard Child, to the Time of making this our Order.

And we do also hereby further order, that the said William Campbell< no role > Shall likewise
pay, or cause to be paid, to the Church-Waredens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of St. Mary le Bone for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
Three Shillings Weekly and every Week, from the present Time, for and towards the
Keeping, Sustentaion , and Maintenance of the said Bastard Child, for and during
so long Time as the said Bastard Child shall be chargeable to the said Parish of St Mary
le Bone And we do further order, that the said Mary Ann Roun< no role > shall also pay
or cause to be paid to the said Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of St. Mary le Bone for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
one Shilling & Six pence Weekly and every Week, so long as the said Bastard Child
shall be chargeable to the said Parish of St Mary le Bone in case the shall not nurse
and take care of the said Child herself.
