The Order of William Bleamire< no role > and Aaron
Graham
< no role > Esquires two of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace in and for the said County one whereof is
of the Quorum, and both residing next unto the Limits
of the Parish Church within the [..] Liberty of
the Rolls in the said County
made the Twenty Sixth Day of MayJuly 1798
concerning a Male
Bastard Child, lately born in the Liberty
aforesaid, of the Body of
Mary Shaw< no role > Single Woman .

WHEREAS it hath appeared unto us the said Justices, as well upon the complaint
of theChurch Wardens andOverseers of the Poor of the said Liberty
as upon the Oath of the said Mary Shaw< no role >
that she the said Mary Shaw< no role > on the Fifteenth Day of
November now last past, was delivered of a Male Bastard Child, in
Aaron Court in the said Liberty in the said
County and that the said Male Bastard Child islikely to beChargeable
to the said Liberty and further, that John Crawford< no role >
of Plough Courtin the said Fetter Lane did beget the said
Bastard Child on the Body of her the said Mary Shaw< no role > and Whereas
the said John Crawford< no role > having been duly summoned that not appeared
before us but hath not shew any sufficient cause why he the said John
Crawford
< no role > should not be adjudge the reputed further of the said Male
Bastard child

We therefore, upon Examination of the Cause and Circumstance of the Premises, as
well upon the Oath of the said Mary shaw< no role > as otherwise, do hereby
adjudge him the said John Crawford< no role > to be the reputed Father of the
said Bastard Child.

And thereupon we do order, as well for the better Relief of the said Liberty
as for the Sustentation and Relief of the said Bastard Child, that
the said John Crawford< no role > shall and do forthwith, upon Notice of this our Order,
pay or cause it to be paid to the saidChurch Wardens andOverseers of the Poor of the
said Liberty or to some or one of them the Sum of £1-9-5
for and towards theLying in of the said and theMain
tenance of the said Bastard Child, to the Time of making this our Order.

And we do also hereby further order, that the said John Crawford< no role > Shall like wise
Pay, or cause to be paid, to theChurch Wardens andOverseers of the Poor of the said
Liberty for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the sum of
Two Shillings Six pence Weekly and every Week from the present Time, for and towards the
Keeping, Sustentation, and Maintenance of the said Bastard child, for and during so long
Time as the said Bastard Child shall be chargeable to the said Liberty

And we do further order, that the said Mary shaw< no role > Shall also pay
or cause to be paid to the saidChurch Wardens andOverseers of the Poor of the said
Liberty for the Time being, or to some or one of them, the Sum of
Six pence Weekly and every Week, so long as the said Bastard Child
Shall be chargeable to the said Liberty in case she shall not nurse
and take case of the said Child herself.

Given under our Hands and Seals the Day and Year first above written.
