To the Worshipful William Mainwaring< no role > Esquire and the rest of
his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the county of Middlesex assembled.
at a GeneralQuarterSessions for the said County.

The humble Petition of Robert Simpson< no role >

Sheweth


That your Petitioner is a licensed dealer in Perfumerary
residing in Princes Street Cavendish Square in the Parish of Saint Marylebone
in the county of Middlesex .

That your Petitioner on the fourteenth day of January last was
convicted before Richard Ford< no role > Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for the said County for that your Petitioner on the third day of
January last did sell to one Elizabeth Dodd< no role > a Roll of Pomatum for
the hair no stamped cover wrapper or label being pasted stuck fastened or
affixed to the same contrary to the form of the statute in that case
made and provided And the said Justice did declare that your
Petitioner had forfeited the sum of five pounds for the offence aforesaid.

That your Petitioner finding himself aggrieved by the
Judgment of the said Justice did give security to the amount of
the said penalty and Costs as by the said Statute is directed and
appealed to the next General Quarter Sessions against the said
Conviction.

Your Petitioner therefore mays that he
may be allowed to prosecute his said
Appeal before your worships

And your Petitioner shall ever pray Etc.
