of the Peace for the County of Middlesex
Assembled at the GeneralQuarterSessions
of the Peace for the said County at the
Sessions House on Clerkenwell Green on
the fifteenth day of February 1796.

The Humble Petition and Appeal of James
Higgs

Pawnbroker

Sheweth

That your Petitioners was on or about the sixth days
February [..] Instantlastconvicted by Daniel
Williams
< no role > Esquire one of the Justices of the Peace for the said Country
in the Penalty of Five Pounds upon an Information charging that
your Petitioner took and received more money by way of Profit upon a
Pawn or Pledge that by the Statute in that Case made and provided he
ought to have done contrary to the Statute Etc

That your Petitioner conceives himself Agrieved by
such Conviction and is Advised to Appeal against the same

Your Petitioner therefore Prays your Worships
will be Pleased to permit him to enter his Appeal
so that the same may be heard at this present General
QuarterSessions of the Peace in and for the said County
And that your Worships will be Pleased to Appoint a
day for hearing and determining the same.

And your Petitioner as in Duty
bound will ever Pray Etc.
