they have afforded and are found for the purpose of
affording assistance to the Civil Magistrates. I
should hope the Gentlemen in both commissions
will thanks then intilled to their notice and
I enclose herewith two Copies of our Committee's
resolution, which I must beg the favour of
nor to lay before them respectively at the next
Sessions as a ground for than to signify to the
Corps their sense of their Services. Mr Conant
was with them the first Night, but 2 attended the
two following as none of the Solve Magistrates
were to be found, and kept the Volunteers under
arms at the Mince, and was obligd to send
for them once tho' the mob dispersed upon my
doing so and I then stopp'd them from coming
