<p n="8">Whereas the Churchwardens Overseers and Trustees of the Parish of Saint George in the<lb></lb>

on behalf of themselves and other Inhabitants of the said Parish Have<lb></lb>
at this Present Session Exhibited their Petition and Appeal setting forth That one <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50877_n8-1">William<lb></lb>

belonging to the said Parish has for near Two Years past been and is now burthensome<lb></lb>
and chargeable thereto and maintained in the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50877_geo11">Workhouse</rs>

of the said Parish as a Pauper at the<lb></lb>
expence of the Petitioners and other the Inhabitants of Said Parish. That said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50877_n8-2">William Tilley</rs>

is of the Age of Sixty Years or thereabouts very infirm and not capable of getting a living<lb></lb>
by the exertion of his own faculties in any respect as appeared to the Petitioners That the<lb></lb>
Petitioners had learnt that <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50877_n8-3">Joseph Tilley</rs>

Son of the abovenamed <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50877_n8-4">William Tilley</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMPS50877_n8-4" type="surname" value="Tilley"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50877_n8-4" type="gender" value="male"></interp>
resided in their<lb></lb>
said Parish and was well able to maintain his said father accordingly mad various enquiries<lb></lb>
into the circumstances of the said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50877_n8-5">Joseph Tilley</rs>

and find that he is an Householder and<lb></lb>
Inhabitant of the said Parish renting a House at Eleven Pounds per Annum by Trade a<lb></lb>
Staymaker and constantly employs three or four Men and verily believed said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50877_n8-6">Joseph Tilley</rs>

in the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50877_geo12">Workhouse</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMPS50877_geo12" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
amounted to Twelve Pounds and<lb></lb>
upwards he having been paid for after the Rate of Two Stillings and eight pence per week<lb></lb>
during the said Time. That the Petitioners had caused various Applications to be<lb></lb>
made to the said <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50877_n8-8">Joseph Tilley</rs>

Father which they apprehended that natural affection would have caused him to have done<lb></lb>
but which he had absolutely refused in every respect, whereby the Petitioners conceived <lb></lb>
themselves aggrieved Now upon hearing the said Appeal and what hath been alledged by<lb></lb>
the respective Parties and their Counsel in and concerning the Premises It is Orderd<lb></lb>
that the said Appeal be and the same is herely dismissed</p>
