Resolved

That the Bill now depending in Parliament Intitled Etc
will if passed into a Law in its Present Form be highly
injurious to the Police of the County of Middlesex and in
Consequence thereof to the Kingdom at large as it
Authorizes sending Criminals of the most abandoned and
desperate sort after Conviction and Sentence into the
House of Correction of the said County and be extremely
Prejudicial to the Morals of lesser Offenders confined
therein who are to be again set at large. and Prevent the
Salutary Effects to be expected from a well regulated
House of Correction or Penitentiary House taking place.

And will also greatly increase the Charge upon the
County Rate of Middlesex which is payable out of the Poors
Rate levied in the several Parishes of the County.

Resolved that a Copy a Copy of this Resolution be sent to the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the several Parishes in this
County where the Members of the House of Commons principally
reside and that it be recommended to them to request
such Members of the House of Commons as reside in their
respective Parishes to take the Same into their Consideration
before the said Bill be passed into a Law.
